B.A., M.A. (in progress), RP (qualifying)
I have grown up in North Bay, a community that I call home. Over the years, I have continued my education concurrently while working with children, parents and families in a variety of different contexts. Most recently, I am in the process of completing a Masters of Counselling Psychology program through Yorkville University. This program aligns well with my interests as I am passionate about providing care and support to others while they strive to achieve their goals and heal from the ups and downs that inherently come with being human. My education has been completed at a slow pace which has allowed me to work with children, youth and families while I studied applying theory to practice daily. These experiences have enriched my learning as a professional, my application of client-centered care and my everyday practice.
I truly believe that anyone has the capacity to improve their life and build upon their strengths in a manner that, yes, can be tough at times but also very rewarding. It is within the context of a therapeutic relationship where one’s life can be explored, and personal goals can be supported in a setting that nurtures acceptance and positive regard for individual hardship and growth.
I have experience in providing trauma informed care and working with others from an attachment focussed lens. I look forward to learning alongside future clients, and everyone at Bay Psychology through my practicum placement which begins May 2021.
